Pdf downloads as gibberish
  ·.pdf docs download as gibberish. When I try to download a form as bltadwin.ru document I get a long string of letters and characters. I am sure it used to work OK but has now gone wrong. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it. Ubuntu , PM. Adobe Acrobat may produce documents that have some normal, legible text in the original document replaced with strange characters (gibberish). This stems from Acrobat's default setting to rely on system fonts exclusively. Documents from other systems may have embedded a font that is not available on the system exhibiting this problem.  · I have a few users who cannot open certain pdfs with out it being gibberish, they can how ever open pdfs form other senders and the appear fine. I can open the pdfs that appear in gibberish for the user, and the pdf looks normal. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe reader and it worked for a little and now the user sees gibberish again.

  All of a sudden I can't download anything. I'm pretty much technically illiterate but I DO download images/documents frequently and have never had a problem. Until now. Now no matter what I try to download- or when I try to view my previous folder of downloads instead of seeing the image I get a page of random symbols and letters. THIS IS THE STEP. - On the Adobe PDF Settings tab one of the selection boxes should say "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts". - DE-SELECT THIS OPTION and click OK / Save your change. - NOTE Sometimes I have to also THEN Right click the printer and choose Printer Properties, at the bottom of the General tab choose Preferences.
